These terms apply to the Brief Aloud website and app made available by Brief Aloud. By using them, you agree to these terms.
What Brief Aloud provides
Brief Aloud combines useful weather and sourced news in a personalised audio briefing. Commute also includes the current journey time. It is an informational product, not professional medical, legal, financial, investment, safety or emergency advice. You remain responsible for decisions you make using the information presented.
News and accuracy
We work to make each news chapter traceable to its sources and to distinguish facts from analysis, but information can be incomplete, disputed, delayed or wrong. Source links may change or become unavailable. Check primary or authoritative sources before acting on important information and use in-app reporting tools when something appears incorrect, stale or biased.
Driving and safe use
Set up the app and choose content before driving. Use hands-free playback and obey local road rules. Never interact with a screen when it would distract you or make driving unsafe. Journey and arrival times are estimates. They do not replace road signs, current conditions or official guidance.
Weather information
YOUR USE OF THIS REAL TIME WEATHER GUIDANCE APPLICATION OR WEBSITE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. WEATHER DATA MAY NOT BE ACCURATE. Severe weather information should be checked through the linked Apple Weather alert and the issuing authority.
Your account and acceptable use
You are responsible for your device and account activity. You must not:
- Use Brief Aloud unlawfully or to harm, harass or impersonate anyone.
- Attempt to bypass security, usage controls, authentication or service limits.
- Probe, scrape, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the service.
- Upload instructions or material you do not have the right to use.
- Use automated systems to create fraudulent accounts or app activity.
Content and intellectual property
Brief Aloud owns or licenses Brief Aloud’s product design, software, brand and original content. Publishers and other rights holders retain ownership of their articles, names and material. Source links are provided for transparency and do not transfer any rights. You keep ownership of the instructions and feedback you submit, while giving us the limited permission needed to operate and improve your service.
Third-party services
Brief Aloud may depend on Apple services, maps, weather, news sources, hosting and AI providers. Their availability and separate terms may affect parts of the product. We are not responsible for third-party sites reached through source links.
Availability and changes
We may add, change or remove features and may suspend access for maintenance, security, legal or operational reasons.
Payments
Brief Aloud has no subscriptions, in-app purchases, advertising or paid plans.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that it will always be uninterrupted, complete or error-free. Brief Aloud will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing here excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Ending access
You may stop using Brief Aloud or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for a serious breach of these terms, unlawful use or a material security risk. Some sections of these terms—such as ownership, disclaimers and liability limits—continue to apply after access ends.
Questions and updates
We may update these terms when the service, our practices or the law changes. Material changes will be dated and communicated where appropriate. Questions can be sent to briefaloud@gmail.com.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator in Qatar, without taking away any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
